  • The giant social media platform has debuted its integrated-token wallet and plans to unveil an NFT marketplace soon

India's short video platform, Chingari, has revealed it is integrating its native $GARI token and an associated Solana wallet into the social media app. The $GARI token had already launched to 500 community members in the beta testnet at the end of last year. This was followed by the token debut on the global stage to international traders last month.

Growth through incentivising content

Chingari hopes to foster an expanding in-app economy which would open many innovative doors on the social media platform.

Users can withdraw or deposit tokens effortlessly via the in-app $GARI wallet. The integration also allows token holders to tip content creators of their liking directly on the platform.

They [holders] can earn tokens by watching and sharing clips as well. Ultimately, the short video sharing platform aims to promote incentives for content hence boosting creativity.

"This will be a game-changer in the Chingari App when millions of users experience the integration of GARI. The existing and new users will be able to Tip the other creators, boost their profile, gain governance rights, and experience a lot more features on the app," Sumit Ghosh, the chief executive of Chingari, remarked.

Ghosh added that Chingari aims to become even more popular by attracting more on-chain users to its platform. The chief executive believes that the latest development will help steer the application towards this path.

"With this, we also move in the direction of being a project with the highest on-chain users. We are very excited to launch the in-app wallet of Chingari and give the users revamped app with loaded features," he added.

An NFT marketplace is in the works

Chingari further revealed that it plans to launch an NFT marketplace in the future. The trading platform would give creators the ability to mint their content into NFTs. These NFTs will then be put on sale, earning the creators $GARI.
