Customers of the upcoming Resorts World Las Vegas will be able to use their Gemini wallet to enhance their experience

Resorts World Las Vegas announced yesterday it will be exploring crypto opportunities through a new partnership with Gemini. This will be the first-ever instance of a partnership between a Las Vegas casino resort and a cryptocurrency exchange.

Resorts World Las Vegas is being developed by a subsidiary of the Genting Group, which serves more than 50 million customers each year around the world. The new casino resort, which cost over $4 billion, will feature 3,500 guest rooms and suites, nightlife venues, a range of food outlets and boutique shops, and a 5,000 capacity theatre — in addition to a next generation gaming floor. The resort is expected to open on 24 June.

President of Resorts World Las Vegas, Scott Sibella, commented, “As the first ground-up resort development on the Strip in more than a decade, Resorts World Las Vegas is committed to integrating innovative technology conveniences across the resort to enhance the overall guest journey. By partnering with Gemini, a leader in cryptocurrency exchange, we are taking another step toward providing progressive guest experience solutions for today’s Las Vegas traveler.

Resorts World Las Vegas aims to become one of the most crypto-friendly resorts on the Las Vegas strip by integrating crypto services with institutional rates across the resort experience. While the details of these services are still being finalised, Resorts World Las Vegas plans to offer customers convenience and security by letting them use their Gemini wallet within the resort.

CEO of Gemini, Tyler Winklevoss, added, “We are incredibly excited to work with Resorts World Las Vegas, the first casino on the Las Vegas Strip to partner with a crypto platform and explore integrating crypto into their guest experience. Whether it’s the ability for their customers to use cryptocurrency at Resorts World Las Vegas or convert dollars into crypto, being one of the first to support crypto is a great way to meet the needs of the next generation of customers and provide a 21st century experience.”

There are already plenty of online casinos that have integrated crypto services, such as Red Dog, Bitstarz, 7Bit Casino, and CloudBet. Crypto payments at online casinos have many advantages, like low fees, fast payouts, and better privacy and security.

With use cases both at live venues and online, it seems that crypto has the potential to revolutionise the global gambling industry, which is expected to be worth more than half a trillion US dollars in 2021.
